L’association a pour but de mettre en œuvre sur le territoire du département de l’Aisne, les moyens susceptibles, d’une part de favoriser l’amélioration de l’état et des conditions de vie des personnes sujettes à des troubles psychiques, en vue de restaurer leur autonomie et de créer les conditions optimales pour une réinsertion sociale -Et d’autre part d’aider les familles à l’accompagnement du handicapé, par la création et la gestion de structures et de services appropriés.

L’association Espoir 02 a été créée à l’initiative des familles adhérentes à l’UNAFAM.

Cette initiative venait renforcer la réflexion des Responsables Départementaux de l’UNAFAM qui avaient fait le constat que l’aide apportée par l’UNAFAM aux familles devait être complétée par une aide apportée à leurs proches présentant un handicap psychique.

Le mieux-être de ceux-ci apaise ainsi l’angoisse des familles qui souffrent de savoir leurs proches dans l’isolement et l’inactivité.
